Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

As an artist and natural curly, I've always had an interest in wave, pattern and texture.

Naturally when I began hairdressing it became a problem solving exercise., and I love a challenge!

There was absolutely no formal training for curly hair types. In fact shortly after starting my apprenticeship the world was introduced to straighteners!

Self taught, I had to adapt the theory and science of traditional hairdressing to curls and find new ways to learn and adapt my knowledge with the skills and qualifications I obtained.

Once I qualified and took off travelling all over the world and this is where the real curl experience began. Hands on work with every nationality and curl type.

Hello Caribbean, where I returned to many times over the years before working my way around South American. Oh, when I look back!

Six years ago I travelled to New York to delve into the world of curls. I've trained with experts all over the world in a multitude of principles and techniques. I don't use or adhere by any particular "method" or approach. While each have their strong points I prefer to tend to each head of curls with an individual approach, calling on some principles however making it my own.

Each head of curls is as unique as a finger print and requires an organic approach coupled with and years of experience.

While I do offer online consultations, I find even as a stylist with thousands of clients under my hairdressing belt, an in person session is always best so I can assess, touch , feel and analyse the quality and texture of the hair.

Sure the internet is bursting with curly influencers and oceans of knowledge but it is only up close and in person that can you truly assess the needs of the hair at that given time.
